How deep do you grind stumps?

Is stump grinding better than stump removal?
For most yards, yes. Stump grinding cuts the stump down below ground and leaves the roots to break down on their own. It costs less and leaves a much smaller hole than digging out the whole root ball. Full stump removal is usually only needed when you're building right on that spot.
